The Hungarian Parliament offers several concessions to make visits more accessible. This page outlines who is eligible for free or reduced-price tickets and the documentation required. For more general information, see our visitors guide.

Eligibility for Discounts

Free Entry

    • Children under 6: Admission is free of charge.
    • Visitors with disabilities: Free entry for a disabled person and one accompanying adult.

Reduced Price

    • EEA Citizens: Adult citizens of the European Economic Area (EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) pay a reduced rate, approximately 50% off the standard non-EEA price.
    • Students (6-24 years): Students from both EEA and non-EEA countries receive a discount. EEA students receive a larger discount. A valid student ID is required.

How to Claim

When booking your tickets online, be sure to select the correct category (e.g., "EEA Adult," "Non-EEA Student"). You must bring valid identification with you on the day of your tour to prove your eligibility for the discount. Staff will check IDs at the entrance.

    • EEA Citizens: Passport or national ID card.
    • Students: Valid student ID card with a photo and expiration date.
    • Visitors with disabilities: Official documentation of disability.

I am a UK citizen. Do I qualify for the EEA discount?
Following Brexit, citizens of the United Kingdom are considered non-EEA and must purchase non-EEA tickets.
Are there any free admission days for the general public?
On three national holidays (March 15, August 20, October 23), the Parliament often holds "Open Days" with free admission for all. However, these days are extremely crowded, involve long queues, and do not include the standard guided tours.
Is there a senior discount?
There is no general senior discount. However, seniors who are EEA citizens qualify for the reduced EEA adult price.
